Strange but Fun Facts & Laws to Read

I was reading this post – Only dull people are brilliant at breakfast from my friend Jill London and in order to send her some more weired facts in addition to the one in her post, I stumbled upon few really strange facts that I felt I can share with you all. Hope you find something new in these may be not so strange facts 🙂

  • The elephant is one of the few mammals that can’t jump!
  • America once issued a 5-cent bill

There are some really strange laws also in place around the world that made me think for a while.

  • In Tennessee, it is against the law to drive a car while sleeping. – Do people do that all the time otherwise?
  • California law prohibits a woman from driving a car while dressed in a housecoat. – Man that’s not fair now
  • In Illinois, the law is that a car must be driven with the steering wheel. – Really??
  • In Miami, it is forbidden to imitate an animal. – I need to be more careful now, not that I have ever done that
  • The law states that more than 3000 sheep cannot be herded down Hollywood Blvd. at any one time.
  • In Missouri, a man must have a permit to shave. – really??
  • In Michigan, it is against the law for a lady to lift her skirt more than 6 inches while walking through a mud puddle. – Man I am not going there wearing a skirt now 🙂

Okay so I’m not trying to shake hands with polar bears, I’m never taking up gardening as a hobby, I can safely take Ladli to North Carolina, and I love Iceland already and…let’s see, what else..oh yes, next time there’s a thunderstorm, I’m sticking real close to my girlfriend. Thank you. A life saved. 🙂

  5. Brilliant post, Kavita! I’m glad I gave you that bit of inspiration xx I’m going to try to remember the one about apples being better than coffee at keeping you awake. The section on laws is so funny, especially the one about Miami (But I won’t go over and ‘crow’ about it! ;-))
